Howie was picked up in Illinois as a stray and put on the Euthanasia list at an overcrowded animal control facility. He is a striking boy that would do well with someone who has husky experience.

One of his most interesting quirks is how grumbly he is. To the average person, he might seem like he’s growling, but that’s just how he talks!

Howie received initial veterinary care and we’re working on cleaning his ears, as they seem to be causing him discomfort. He doesn’t like having medicated drops put in them, but he’s getting better at tolerating it.

Howie walks great on a leash and rides well in the car. For dog friends, He does best with females, neutered males, or as an only dog. He enjoys his crate and needs little to no coaxing to go in it. In fact, sometimes he stays in it even with the door open!

In true husky form, Howie is somewhat aloof, but his recall within a fenced yard is good and he does seek out affection and attention.
