Mishka - Siberian Husky - 2-3
Mishka was picked up in Springfield, IL as a stray and was a bit withdrawn. She was too skinny - you can still see her ribs when she moved - but she’s gaining weight in a healthy way.
After being in rescue for a day, Mishka’s demeanor changed significantly. At first, she was wary, timid, and quite skittish. Her foster home put a long line leash on her to make sure they could catch her to bring her inside from the yard. After her first night, she started wagging her tail, playing with other dogs, and soliciting and accepting attention and petting!
Mishka does okay on leash, but it’s new for her so she’ll get better the more she does it. She’s doing really well with crate training - she goes in with little to no prompting from her foster parents! She’s still cautious of new people and sudden movements, but her confidence grows so much every day! She will be a great addition to someone’s home and family.
Adoption fee: $625
